Faucets Direct - faucetsdirect.com

I am a customer with no interest in faucetsdirect.com.  I feel the need to share that the folks at faucetsdirect.com are top-notch, professional and willing to put the customer first.

I love it when I feel obligated to write a positive blog post.  It happened through my purchase of faucets and accessories for an entire bathroom and kitchen.  All the faucets were purchased through them after an attempt I made to order locally through a company that didn't go anywhere.

FaucetsDirect.com pulled it off with finesse and I recommend you experience it.

Check em' out....

This is my rant

So, this is my rant blog and I don't really expect anyone to read it. Not only have I done a horrible job with it but I just don't really like ranting. Today's rant is a good one and not a negative one...

Roku - You are amazing
Netflix - You are amazing

Ok, rant over. If you would like to have basically a closet full of DVD's, the Roku player will offer you that and more. If you are a member of Netflix, the Roku seamlessly posts your instant selections and you can watch (and add) movies right from the simple navigation menu.

I highly recommend Roku and Netflix!

Worlds best tollways - E-470 (Now a Popular Police Speed Trap)

I love E-470. It's a great tollway. The condition of the road is impeccable and other than an occasional slow down, it's clear sailing. It seems like a very safe road as far as that goes as well - The lanes are spacious and roads are separated. Entrance ramps are long. There's not much confusion when it comes to exits and there are those snoozer lines on the side of the road to scare you if you drift too far. All-in-all, I enjoy the road.

It's a great time saver as well. Heading to the airport is a breeze and getting to I-25 avoids the Parker and Arapahoe intersection messes that are so typical these days.

I know there are some complaints out there about the road. It's costly and they do seem to have work to do on the toll violation fine amount being out of line but the drive is incredibly pleasurable because of their maintenance. I do see the safety patrol out there too working hard to clean the road and help anyone who needs it. To me, it's a good value and I find the safety and convenience to be in line with cost.

I have heard about some billing type complaints from some other forums and such but I have found their customer service to be very responsive. They seem to me to recognize the importance of customer service these days. Because I am an account holder, I have been able to clear up any toll violation issues quickly and effectively.

It's becoming somewhat of a speed trap these days and I find it very distracting. As of March, 2010 there is at least one police radar gun pointed at you each day, each way. Today, I saw 3 on a two mile stretch. You will always see a trap on the way to the airport as well.

I really don't mean to be complaining if this is improving safety but in the event that it is becoming an easy way to write a ticket for the sake of writing a ticket or to reach a quota, I think it's a shame. It is unsafe and distracting on a road that is otherwise known for safe and smooth traffic flow.

In a way, I want to say that paying the tolls should alleviate the scrutiny of the police but I know that's completely foolish. I would encourage E-470 officials to open up discussions with law enforcement to find out why they need such a presence on a road that given all outward appearances looks like one place in the state, the police don't need to be.

In the end, the road is spectacular and I hope this post helps someone in some way. Thanks for the opportunity to share my thoughts.

Bulkregister doesn't want to keep your business...

Just got off the phone with bulkregister customer service. Not happy that I have to pay extra for URL forwarding. My opinion quickly is that if you want to advertise 'Wholesale pricing with no hidden costs' do not charge for URL forwarding.

Quick comparison:

Bulkregister one-year .com pricing: $12.00
GoDaddy one-year .com pricing: $7.29

Not sure really if I am one of the only members but GoDaddy seems to be in my future.

On a positive note, they have an easy-to-use website and have been auto-renewing my domains without issue for years. Bulkregister was purchased by enom.com a few years ago.

Liberty Names of America - Domain Name Registration Scam

These jokers are most certainly the same company that sent out letters previously attracting the attention of the FTC - SEE Domain Registry Of America: Don’t Be Scammed!.

Once they get you hooked with their pretend letter, they will transfer your domain name at more than you pay now and then make it difficult for you to transfer the name out. This is a bait and switch tactic which fools people into thinking that they are the domain names official registrar. In reality they want to switch you to them and away from your present registrar. What's more is that they usually just cash the check and you don't go through with the transfer. Calling will get you nowhere and you will not get your money back.

Anyone marketing like this should be booted from eNom and other registrars as their reseller immediately. Apparently though this has been going on for years. There are back stories linked from Google dating back years. So, it's 2009 and this is STILL GOING ON! Someone knows more than me but a few wording changes on the letter does not make it ok to continue to fool people. Someone please stop these fools!

On another note, the foreign registrar email scam has come to an end - I received a TON of these emails too... Glad they are shut down.

Rhapsody - Christmas Music In Spring - STOP

Oh, Rhapsody. I want to love you but you won't stop the playing the Christmas music and it's March 2nd. My best guess is that there is a holiday song in rotation every hour. Why?

I don't have anything against holiday music, in fact, it may be my favorite genre. But it has a time constraint that really is inherent in us. After all, too much of a good thing...

I even went so far as to let them know about this over a month ago. Now, it's March 2nd. Oh well. Pandora - here we come.
